Last week, you may recall that the House Financial Services Committee unanimously accepted my amendment to keep tax dollars from flowing to organizations indicted for voter fraud during consideration of the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act.

You may also recall that Chairman Barney Frank later revoked his support for my amendment.

My amendment would keep organizations that are under indictment for voter fraud or other criminal activities, or that employ people indicted for such crimes, from accessing billions of your tax dollars. Groups such as ACORN are repeatedly charged with violating the law and the public trust, yet they continue to access taxpayer funds. The threshold for gaining taxpayer funding should not be so low.

Interestingly, the Associated Press reported Monday that Nevada authorities  filed criminal charges against ACORN and two former employees for voter registration fraud.

Last week I asked: Whose side are we on:  The taxpayer's or ACORN's?  Chairman Frank still has the opportunity to side with taxpayers by upholding the decision of the Financial Services Committee to implement the highest standard and withhold taxpayer dollars from funding organizations when they're under the cloud of suspicion of a public criminal indictment.

Slobbering Barney
The only thing Barney Franks wants from taxpayers is their money.

Geez...
It's almost like those thieves at ACORN have someone in a high place watching out for them. Hmm, I wonder who that could be?

Why won't voters put our country out of its collective misery and vote that blabbering, slobbering idiot Barney Frank out of office?

It's not that hard to do. Just vote...

Voter fraud questions
Why do conservatives lose almost every contested vote, New York, Minnesota, Illinois everywhere except Florida in 2000?
Coming from Chicago ACORN is involved in fraud wherever they go and Obama worked with them early in his career....and now is payiny them off with tarp, earmarks, our tax dollars..YUCK.

Vote early, vote often
Think we should go back to means testing, you know, are you a Marxist bent on the destruction of the United States? In other words, a Democrat? No vote for you.

ACORN needs to be aborted...
...to save the public further inconvenience. Otherwise they will grow up to become a new breed of Brown Shirts or Obama Youth or Obama SS.

This ACORN story isn't even a blip on the radar. Some ACORN people got out of line registering people - filling out cards with names of cartoon characters, etc. - and they were fired for it. Big deal. This only matters to people who begin to foam at the mouth when they hear the word "acorn." Sure hope they don't have oak trees in their back yard. Could be fatal.

Wall Street
Some traders and brokers get out of line, were fired for it. Big deal. No need to regulate.

Not Foaming
Right Vlad if there is a hint of impropriety going on, hanging chads, you look like a snail with salt on it,but seeing acorn is for obama we are nut jobs to believe that acorn did more than a few fraudulent signups, lets have all the facts if they are an upstanding group as you say lets look into it, sort of like you want to look into torture from George W seems fair or is fair illegal now too.

Maybe you missed it, but we just had eight years of a Republican administration whose Justice Department placed high priority on uncovering voter fraud cases. And they didn't find any. So if Bush and Cheney, using all their resources, couldn't find any, why should I think you're going to?

Irreparable Damage To The Democrat Party
Acorn is the SCOURGE of our Nation and the offshoot of a radically left Democrat Party that has become addicted to Unionized votes and ACORN votes. So sad that they can't attract a normal, independently-thinking person to vote for them. The Democrat Party is hurting themselves irreparably. These criminal acts will not be forgotten or covered up for too much longer. So enjoy the chaos while you can.
