Last Friday I sent a letter to Stephen Johnson, the Administrator of the EPA, regarding newly proposed EPA regulations of greenhouse gases.

As a result of the Supreme Court's ruling on April 2, 2007 in Massachusetts vs. EPA, greenhouse gases are now considered an air pollutant under the Clean Air Act. The problem with this is that the EPA now has a vast swath of power in which they can implement and regulate emissions standards, a power that has been long reserved to the United States Congress. Essentially, the EPA can now make overly broad regulatory pronouncements that could devastate our current fragile economy.

The proposal goes so far as to make specific engineering and design specifications, including how many grass clippings a lawnmower must make per gallon of gas.  It would impact American farms, businesses, and homes.  The authority assumed under this proposed rule would raise the price on energy, causing a domino effect that increases the costs of transportation, food manufactured goods and more.

This massive regulation could cost the American economy an estimated 7 trillion dollars in lost GDP in just 20 years, undoubtedly resulting in massive job losses. During this current economic crisis, we cannot afford to put the American economy in any further turmoil or hardship that could hinder its recovery.

For more information on the EPA's proposed regulations, check out the Heritage Foundation's Stop the EPA website.

The EPA
is just one more agency that needs to be defunded and abolished. They have done nothing good for this country and everything they HAVE done has been deleterious and costly to no good end.

Close it and let the government workers taking up space there go out and get real jobs.

Congresswoman, please do not rescend your comment about candidate Obama. The undertones of his words and his obvious poor judgement in chosing friends throughout his adult life and the almost total lack of scrutiny from We The People's press into just who he is shows a shaddowy side to all of this. By God speak the will of righteousness and do not cave to the pressure of political correctness. We as all civilizations prior are still faced with the enigma of searching for the truth, wanting to speak the truth and yet knowing that the one thing that will cause anger, discention, cost careers cause wars is for the Truth to be spoken istead of spoken only to allies while spoken part and parcel in public. Stand Up. Despotism calls.

Stephen Johnson, White House Tool
Do the EPA regulations Bachmann complains about follow the advice of qualified scientists, inside and outside the agency? If so, Bachmann need not worry too much about the agency enforcing them as long as Stephen Johnson is director. Rather than doing his job---i.e., enforcing the law in accordance with good science---he bows to the Bush White House's notorious ideologically driven anti-science agenda. The Congress should force him to resign.

And speaking of resignations, where is yours, Ms. Bachmann? After your disgusting "anti-America" comments last week, that is the appropriate path for you to take. An abject apology is also in order.

Robyn says, "The EPA is just one more agency that needs to be defunded and abolished."

I suggest that Robyn spend a few weeks in a country where environmental regulations do not exist or are laxly enforced. Then come back and tell us why it is so much better to live in a place where people cough and wheeze from the bad air and have stomach cramps, thanks to pollutants in the water . Oh, I forgot. If clean air and water are really needed, the magical free market will automatically provide it.

MATTHEWS: So you think Barack Obama may have anti-American views?
BACHMANN: Absolutely. I’m very concerned that he may have anti-American views.
[...]
MATTHEWS: How many Congresspeople, members of Congress, are in that anti-American crowd you describe? How many Congresspeople that you serve with?
BACHMANN: Right now —
MATTHEWS: How many are anti-American in the Congress right now that you serve with?
BACHMANN: You’d have to ask them, Chris. I’m focusing on Barack Obama and the people that he’s been associated with and I’m very worried about their anti-American nature.
MATTHEWS: But do you suspect there are a lot of people you serve with — well, he’s the United States senator from Illinois, he’s one of the people you suspect as being anti-American. How many people in Congress of the United States do you believe are ant-American? Is he alone or are there others? How many do you suspect of your colleagues of being anti-American.
BACHMANN: What I would say what I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating exposé and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think people would be — would love to see an expose like that.

Despite the way the blogs and the Democratic Party are spinning it, I never called all liberals anti-American, I never questioned Barack Obama’s patriotism, and I never asked for some House Un-American Activities Committee witch hunt into my colleagues in Congress.
What I did was ask legitimate questions that Minnesotans have been asking me: What does Barack Obama mean by change?

Michele Must Go

This should do it. Michele Bachmann’s latest words out of her mouth should push your decision over the edge to get her out. She has been nothing short of an embarrassment to the people of this district and this State.

It started right away with the mugging of the president to get a kiss. It continued with her claim of knowing about a secret military plot in the Middle East. Then there was the freedom of light bulb choice commentary. Now she continues with the claim that Barack Obama and other members of congress are “un-American.” Why?

Is it because they disagree with her point of view, the Republicans point of view, or the presidents? This is exactly why they are Americans and Patriots. They choose to exercise their rights to “respectfully” disagree with these people.

Michele Bachmann has been not only disrespectful of Obama, but to the citizens and voters of this country. When, by most polls, it shows that more citizens agree with Obama than disagree, she is calling a majority of this country’s Americans un-American as well.

How shameful. How disrespectful. How short-sighted. I urge citizens of this district to join me in saying enough embarrassment is enough. Michele Bachmann has got to go! Vote El Tinklenberg.

Google Michele

If you missed Chris Matthews’ interview Friday (MSNBC) with our incredibly out-of-control congresswoman, just google Michele Bachmann Minnesota and you’ll find a Chicago Sun Times transcript of the entire interview and the blogs that followed.

Observers elsewhere must wonder how a majority of Minnesotans in the Sixth Congressional District — that’s us! — ever could have chosen to send this irresponsible politician to Washington to represent us in making our laws and promoting our values.

We must not repeat the embarrassing mistake! Cast your vote for El Tinklenberg

Big Government is Anti-American
I'm not ashamed to say it. America was founded by those who through off invasive National Government to live as free and moral men. The opportunities afforded by this philosophy have attracted wave upon wave of subsequent immigrants to form this great nation I now live in.

Trying to transform the United States into a Social Welfare State or a People's Republic is categorically "Un-American." William Ayres and Rev. Wright have committed Un-American acts and many of the Kool-Aid drinkers who act as apologists for them share in that transgression.

Take your National Socialism elsewhere!

Investigate the Bachman's
Interesting that Michelle would be so concerned with an issue affecting American farms. Maybe the Bachman family farm could use some of the $160,000 they have received in Federal subsides since 2001 to help create a solution. I do not think my push mower I use for my small yard would be affected that much, but if I owned 946 acres of land that I have to tame may effect me just a little more. Why have you not written more letters against this government intervention you claim to say has affected these farms sine the 1930's intervention yet you still accept the checks. If you were so confident in your words you would not accept those checks, and if your do you are just as guilty as the National Government in participating in the devastation you say has been imposed on Minnesotas agricultural communities. My final question is the farm owned by; "the Bachmann Farm Family LP", ” Bachman Farm Family,” or "members of the Bachmann family"? This and Paul Bachman are what the media need to investigate and uncover. We want to know.

The ads were canceled Tuesday afternoon, after several days in which Bachmann was the subject of criticism for her televised remark on Friday that Obama "may have anti-American views." Her DFL opponent, Elwyn Tinklenberg, reports receiving $1.3 million in donations since Bachmann made the comment in response to a question from Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC's "Hardball."

exactly. Like to see the DNC pull away from

You know as well as I there'd be a policial witch-hunt by the press and "concerned Democrats" if the Republican's had loonies like Cynthia McKinny, Maxine Waters, and candidates like Al Franken. (for heaven's sake Al Franken is recorded using the "n" word as much as the press played George Allen's "mecaca" tape!)

In the context of all the political fodder in a campaign, I don't think she stepped that far out of bounds. Heck, Matthews has said worse on his show about other politicians.

I guess the RNC is taking some accountability. Too bad they'll lose another district.

EPA goes overboard sometimes but if we didn't have agencies like them our country would be more polluted than it is already.
DDT and mercury come to mind; if corporate America isn't looked at they will take the cheapest route available and that isn't usually good for the environment.

Most every regulation that has benefited the environment has been initially opposed by big business. Many of those regulations in the long haul have been proved to be right.

EPA what a laugh
Each state has it's own EPA.

What happens is that the big companies by favor with the federal one, generally in a manner that places a competitor in a predicament.

The blades of grass count isn't far fetched however when you consider how far they do go sometimes in keeping things we need from happening.

On one hand progressives want new fuel celled cars, on the other they want them built without the various chemistry needed to make them due to some insect, germ or other parasite, much like the left, which they feel is necessary for preservation of some eco system.

What hasn't crossed anyone's mind is that extinction is a part of the cycle, the extinct evidence this. Denial of extinction is the best way to interfere with the nature of eco systems.

Sure abusers are out there, like in anything, and they should be punished for their nusance with criminality, not subject the rest of us to the EPA seeking what power grabs it can due to a favorable political climate.

I am sure one day the environmentalists will claim a means to keep the sun burning at a particular temperature, as though man is so powerful he can stop a star from burning out. Reality is that such, as with the EPA or any government agency/undertaking, is a fraud and a sham to exercise what Madison warned "the old trick of turning every contingency into a resource for accumulating force in the government."

ToddyL writes: Friday, October, 24, 2008 3:49 AM
To Michele
Thank you for posting this article, government oversight is best done by the Governed.

I hope the GOP finds its way to wisdom in regard to your campaign.

Those who disagree, oh well, jealousy will do that.

It's funny though since the producers who are meant to be the subject of taxation to "spread the wealth around" should be earning greater respect. Government acting in a Robin Hood fashion isn't the only reason the giving occurs, for there is nothing to give if nothing is produced.

I will say it's going to be fascinating to see the prices on things go up in relation to the tax imposed, and of course it will be an offset of increase to more than accommodate for the new tax burden.

Between this and 40% more people filing to get their "$1,000 tax credit check" which costs around 400 dollars for the government to issue, this is going to be one hell of a show if Obama wins.

And we thought they laughed at Bush, then again this explains the entertainment industry's support for Obama, a man who can't even read a GAO report accurately. I mean, anyone who confuses "revenues" with a "budget surplus" clearly has no idea of anything in economics, at least that I can trust.

But what more can we expect from someone who is hiding their medical records and proof they were born in the United States of America, only to offer up more than one fraudulent digitally created "Certification of Live Birth" as though we in the computer age won't examine the evidence.

But I have to hand it to them, they've certainly achieved control over the mentally weak. Vengeance for slavery by role reversal appears the agenda of the liberal day. I don't see how that brings an end to any of it, racial divides, class warfare, and the like.

But once the wealthy have left America in the droves they are preparing for, at least that much of the war over jealousy will be over, though then who'll he tax? Hmmm...
kbTexan writes: Friday, October, 24, 2008 12:57 PM
Too bad...
It's a sad time when speaking the truth gets you blasted by the left-stream media and all the usefull idoits of the left.

You can deny it all you want, but that won't change the fact that Obama is indeed anti-American and unqualified to be President.

Take a little effort and educate yourself. Read Thomas Paine (the atheist), Thomas Jefferson, Adam Smith, John Locke, George Washington, The Federalist Papers. See what America is REALLY about. Then look at Obama. Observe how his policies line up with the Communist Party USA's platform. See how far away he is from 1776, the Declaration of Independence, Patrick Henry's "give me liberty, or give me death."

There's no question about it. Obama is anti-American. The only way you can deny it is to redefine what it means to be American, which is what the left is actively doing.

"Live FREE or DIE!"

EPA, CDP, ICLEI Oh my
The new environmental rules are pure, unadulterated tyranny. But the tyranny will not even be homegrown.

I believe that the Carbon Disclosure Project (run by 385 institutional investors w/a combined asset base of 57 trillion dollars)

and the ICLEI (a 450 memeber int'l association of governments "interested in sustainable development") is already set up to mandate carbon control over every city in the world.

My own town, small as it is, has accepted funding from these organizations. "In the near future, every city in every nation will be taking steps to reduce carbon emissions."

"'Rather than wait until it is mandatory, [we] choose to do it now with funding being provided from sources as distant as London,' [the city administrator] added."

Our local government, with foreign funding, has benevolently decided to prepare us for "a carbon constrained world."

kbTexan-
Maybe your right about these historic leaders, back in their days women were not allowed to be able to have custody of their children, hold property, make contracts, keep their own earnings and inheritance, and sue in court. George Washington owned many slaves and thought it should stay that way, yet his theory was opposed by Thomas Paine. Divorce could be considered adultery punishable by death. Many people disagreed with these men that are our country's founding fathers and considered them unqualified also. But they CHANGED things to make this country grow. For one the "Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo-1845" The treaty allowed the U.S. to purchase California and other areas from Mexico on the condition that Americans would honor Mexican culture and values. Does Texas and these other states still honor these cultures?
