Today, the House is set to vote on the Democrat's $825-billion dollar "stimulus" package that according to them is primed to immediately jump start the economy. But as we know, there are serious doubts from respected economists about the bill's ability to resuscitate our stagnant economy.

Republicans at the House Ways and Means Committee have done some great work breaking down 1) the percentage of tax cuts and government spending that reaches the economy under the Democrat “stimulus” bill, and 2) the difference in tax relief that American families, workers and businesses would receive from the Democrat and the Republican plans comparatively.

Here's a link to their research that lays out their case perfectly with graphs to match.

I'll close the post with the Committee's "Bottom Line" from their research:

"The nonpartisan CBO confirms that tax cuts get more money into the hands of American families and our economy faster than government spending. The American people know tax cuts are a better way to stimulate the economy than borrowing money from China just to increase federal spending and raise the federal deficit. If the Speaker was interested in answering the President’s call to reach a bipartisan, American solution to this crisis, she would work with Republicans to increase tax relief for every working American—which is what the Republican alternative does."

Lefty lib Democrats have ushered in...
...the first one-party, imperial Big Government in U.S. history. They get to dictate now. It is government by democrats, of democrats, for democrats. Everyone else pays or suffers at their coercive force in order for them to reap their benefits. And we see what the sycophantic trolls who post here have in mind for us.

Not just Govt growth but BIG govt growth
The closed minded Dems have no brains to solve their own problems, so that is why they have to rely on Govt to do it.

Roosevelt had no idea how to solve the problem, just look at his NY Governor days, Johnson had no clue other than to get money to Texas for projects and Obama has no clue what is wrong much less how to attack it.

Now that the lid has come off Govt growth, the Dems are ready to put us all on the public take. They will give us no choice, be it in Health care, Banking, Autos, Energy, Retirement... they just do not have the brains to grasp solutions, only problems.

We are in for a long tough economic period and the Dems should be given full credit for its failure. Repubs. should let then have all the credit by voting NO on every piece of legislation they put forth. Straight Party line votes are what we need to see, if not , vote the RINO's out in 2010. Several RINO's lost in 2008 and the ones left will go the next election cycle, we can only work to that goal.

Stimulus pkg ruse to get more sinister
Nationalized Banking System into effect.

I would like to bring to the attention of those who have not studied this issue. The very first thing that Communists do when taking over a country is to nationalize the banking system. That is and always has been the "Hallmark" of Communism. I have read about this throughout my life and watched it happen in Cuba in 1959 and elsewhere across Central and South America, in the 20th century, as Communists came to power there over the years. In the case of the USA; The Communists are NOT coming...they are already here and they now control Congress and the Whitehouse, so they will do as they please and no one will be able to stop them! Every economist and business person knows; Once in complete control of the money supply...they own you! You will do as they tell you! One merely has to look at the former Soviet Union (or any other Communist country) to see it. Of course it doesn't last indefinitely...the rotten system that evolves, will eventually implode upon itself...but what is left in the end is complete and utter destruction and total chaos. Anyone who has bothered to examine the truth of it, knows for certain the end is already in sight, just as was the end of the former Soviet State. What is left is a depression so deep that that theirs has now lasted 20 years and the end is no where in sight (that's longer than our last "Great Depression"). Is that what we want for America...because it's coming down the road at this very moment.

Obama knows better, but he won't buck
Pelosi. No one has mentioned the monsterous interest bill China is presenting.... Tax cuts have no interest.

Dear Lord, have we elected Pelosi as President?

A friend of mine went home for a nooner, took a Viagra, it got stuck in his throat, and he ended up with a stiff neck for the rest of the afternoon.

A much better idea for the country
I suggest that every govenment department reduce the number of employees by 20%, at once! Both the House and Senate staffs should lead the way.
By doing this we would see not only a reduction in costs but it would force effientcy in a system that is bloated.
This idea could also be be done in every state in the nation and nothing would change except the costs.
I have done this in several plants and, amazingly to those who doubt, the morale improved, the workers stopped wasting time on unrelated work activities during the workday and every plant became profitable or more profitable.

Retunrning to Basic Values Won't Be Easy
Too sensible, too smaller-government to be adopted. Pie-in-the-sky to believe such a free market, prinipled approach would receive liberal support.

Am reallyn beginning to think that the only way we can return to a free market, states rights, republican small gov't system is popular upheavel. The lines have been so deeply drawn between the right (traditionalists) and left (socialists) that I can't imagine how things can possibly change for the better without a good 'ole fashioned Jeffersonian revolution. But, our liberal gov't's bread-and-circuses approach to govoernance will likely quell any significant revlutionary zeal. Oh well. Just a thought.

Keynesian Economics fail,
The Austrians have a better idea.
"Do You Austrians Have a Better Idea?"
Daily Article by Robert P. Murphy | Posted on 2/2/2009 from the Mies Institute
A lot of people get annoyed with Austrian economists because they tend to be so dogmatic (we
prefer the term consistent) and because they cloak their strictly economic claims with selfrighteousness (we prefer the term morality). After a good Austrian bashing of the latest call to stealtaxpayer money and waste it on something that will make a given problem worse, the stumped critics willoften shout, "Oh yeah? Well do you guys have a better idea?"
Now, in truth, someone doesn't have to have a better suggestion in order to point out that a
recommended strategy will exacerbate the situation. If an allergic man has been stung by a bee, I don't know what to do except rush him to the hospital and maybe scour the cupboards looking for Benadryl.
But I'm pretty sure drawing blood from his leg, in order to inject it into his arm and thus "stimulate his immune system," is a bad idea on numerous accounts — not least of which, is that I'm pretty sure an allergic reaction means your immune system needs to calm down. But the point is, if a bunch of guys hold the man down — he has to be forced to endure the procedure for his own good, don't you know — I feelperfectly qualified in yelling, "Stop!" If you grasped that analogy, you can understand my feelings about anything Paul Krugman writes.

stimulus bill
http://minnesotaindependent.com/26721/bachmanns-statements- on-stimulus-raise-a-few-eyebrows

Michelle Bachmann again proved how unintelligent she is. She says that this new stimulus bill has enough money in it to write a check to every man, woman, and child in the world for the amount of $1,430. So I got my 50 cent calculator out and divided 787 billion (amount of dollars in the stimulus bill) by 6.8 billion (amount of people currently in the world) and I came up with $115.74. I calculated it three times to make sure I was correct. I’m not sure how Michelle learned to do simple math but she really needs to go back to elementary school to get it right. We need intelligent people who can not only do simple math but can also comprehend stimulus bills far beyond our expertise in office.
