Listen folks, this economic crisis has unfolded because of no oversight in the banking and financial industry, and yes, lack of regulation in the subprime mortgage industry. Trying to pin all your hopes on Fannie May - oddly, McCain's own campaign guru being a lobbyist for them SHOULD make you more cautious on this one - and Freddie Mac is a trick that doesn't seem to be serving you all that well.
Last night's debate sent home the message that the angry old duffer can't close the deal and when he comes out "swinging" like you hoped, he actually missed and got sucker punched as a result. His gawping mouth and deer-in-the-headlights eyes when Obama told him AGAIN that small business owners would NOT be fined was priceless. Who has been feeding McCain BS, by the way? And are they setting him up for full blown humiliation, or what? |
|
to see McCain swing and miss so much. But then I remember what a mean old man he's been through all of this. The dirty campaigner who pledged he'd conduct his campaign with grace and honor, then lied and turned nasty instead, is allowing his minions to blur the lines between the real offenders in this economic nightmare, who was in charge - like on 9/11 - and implicate Democrats by using fixed facts, grossly distorted half-lies and omissions of McCain VERY BIG part in the economic meltdown.
In the Keating Five scandal, McCain helped his "pal" Charles Keating bilk American workers of their pensions, and investors of millions by working on de-regulation legislation so as to clear the way for Keating's theft. Getting caught and admitting guilt doesn't cover up the fact that he was a KEY MEMBER of that nefarious group - the ONLY one who was invited to vacation with Keating, have use of his jet, have Cindy invest in property with Keating and make money off of the "favors" he dealt Keating. Those "favors" led directly to the de-regulation nightmare that has caused the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. THAT is your candidate's legacy, and Joe the Fake Plumber Who is Really a Keating, only sends that message out there for all to see. |

Now- who do we send a letter to to demand investigations into the mismanagement of taxpayer funds committed BY Barney and Chris Dodd? |
|
|
To put it kindly you don't know what the hell you are talking about but the Obama talking pont rings....False. Not that it matter but McCain was completely absolved of ANY wrongdoing in Keating. Michelle has the right idea but it wont get past Franks trashcan. He has no esire to have anyone in that might tell the truth. Another Waxman committee...lots of pomp no circumstance |

What debate were you watching?
It is interesting how two people can see things so differently! |
|
|
Don't hold your breath waiting for Barney Frank to call these people to testify under oath. That is the last thing these clowns want out in the open. |
|
|
Franklin Raines accumulated $90 million over a 6-year stretch by making a commission for each loan he made - BAD or good. Did this require any intelligence or risk? This was beyond easy money - this was a rigged table. I'm a racist for mentioning it - I'm bringing it back. |
|
Between 2004 and 2006, subprime lending exploded. Fannie and Freddie went from holding a high of 48 percent of the subprime loans that were sold into the secondary market to holding about 24 percent, according to data from 'Inside Mortgage Finance.'
WHY?
Bush's AMERICAN DREAM DOWNPAYMENT ACT of 2003 he and LOCKSTEPPED GOP RAN OVER US WITH.
http://www.hud.gov/news/release.cfm?content=pr03-140.cfm
WHEN, Bush spouted at signing...... "This legislation will authorize $200 million per year in down payment assistance to at least 40,000 low-income families."
"I set a goal to add 5.5 million new minority homeowners in America by the end of the decade."
"It is in our national interest that more people own their own home."
http://www.americandreamdownpaymentassistance.com/whsp12162 003.cfm
THEN, "The volume of subprime loans TRIPLED from 2002 to 2006."(page 13)
http://www.ofheo.gov/media/pdf/OFHEOPARNovember2007508.pdf
As, Bush's Greenspan told the Senate Banking Committee in 2003. “We think it would be a mistake” to more deeply regulate the derivatives contracts.
==================================
During those same three years (2004-06), private investment banks, NOT Fannie and Freddie, dominated the mortgage loans that were packaged and sold into the secondary mortgage market. In 2005-06, the private sector securitized almost 2/3 of all U.S. mortgages.
================================
The "turmoil in financial markets clearly was triggered by a dramatic weakening of underwriting standards for U.S. subprime mortgages, beginning in late 2004 and extending into 2007," the President's Working Group on Financial Markets reported.
-------------------------------------------- DEREGULATION and GREED in the PRIVATE SECTOR caused by the GOP CONTROLLED CONGRESS. ------------------------------------------- |
|
Stay on it! Obama's styrofoam Greek pillars are starting to crack!
Americans deserve a full accounting of what led to the $700 billion bailout.
Democrats are conducting a massive cover-up of their role vis-a-vis Fannie and Freddie, and instead are trying to pillory the private sector. Their goal is to shield themselves and Obama from the wrath of the American people before the election -- and then control all branches of government and bury the truth of what led to this crisis.
McCain's winning formula: Joe the Plumber (taxes), Fannie/Freddie (Obama=financial crisis), ACORN (Obama=financial crisis & voter fraud) and "I am not George Bush" (reform).
Let the 527's handle Ayres, Farrakhan, Wright and Rezko. Unfortuantely, most Americans are indifferent to these accusations (myself not included). |

Cut and paste trolls are so last week. |
|
Representative Michelle Bachmann: you have done yourself proud and given us hope that these scoundrels in Congress will get their comeuppance someday (as slim as it seems). It is just disappointing that you did not specify that Barney Frank's boyfriend, who worked for Fannie Mae be one of the star witnesses.
In any case, make many copies of the letter and send it out daily until it gets traction. Don't forget to fyi the MSM. |
|
|
Michelle, how about Phil Gramm. Enron Loophole? |
|
|
|
You've illustrated all too well why Bush's poll numbers are so low: he compromised conservatism for the sake of bipartisanship.
When Right compromises with Left, Left wins, always. When Stupid (Republicans) compromises with Evil (Democrats), Evil wins. Bush laid down with dogs (the Democrats and their 9% approval rating), now he's got fleas.
It'd be a lesson well learned for McCain if he's elected, should he accept it as such. |
|
Democrats have chosen their sacrifical lamb ACORN but the Obama campaign have there own agenda concerning the community organizers. Acorn will be the blaim why Americans do not trust democrats. Without liberals ACORN nor any other hate oppression organization would have recruited lenders for banks, Freddie Mac nor Frannie Mae. This registration period is over for most of the nation. Acorn leaders should make a deal with the government and burn the elected officials who hired them in the first place. |

It couldn't be put any more truthfully than what I read here. The epitome of "Republican" defined so accurately and perfectly.

Congressman Bachmann has just uttered the single most loathsome and disgusting thing I have EVER heard in my 45 years, live on MSNBC. Yes, MSNBC is far left, however I heard her remarks in their entirety and thus cannot be said to have taken them out of context.
Ms. Bachmann has just called for a full investigation and media "expose" by the media of the United States Congress, further specifying that "liberals" should be vetted to determine whether they are "anti-American."
This is nauseating McCarthyism in its sickest form. At this time when all Americans are struggling to save and serve the country we love, this is strain of putrid hate and toxicity that arises from the darkest ignorance of our collective political unconscious. Ms. Bachmann clearly has neither knowledge nor sense of history, and should hold her tongue until she learns better.
Another familiar note was sounded, cautioning that our institutions of higher learning are suspect, and perhaps fraught with "anti-Americans." Why does this sound familiar? Has Ms. Bachmann, perhaps, heard of Chairman Mao?
What's next, Ms. Bachmann? Shall we institute a purge? Set up re-education camps for our professors? Develop a loyalty battalion to root out left-leaning Americans?
Left of Center and well educated DOES NOT EQUAL anti-American. Ms. Bachmann, I am deeply ashamed that a fellow American should utter such filth, and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Expect to see this text elsewhere. |
|
I also found Ms. Backmann's comments loathsome and absolutely disgusting. I kept waiting for the punchline to a bad joke. I am a Democrat and consider myself to be quite liberal. I believe in social programs, although I have never used one, others are not so fortunate. I also feel misled about the Iraq war. I am pro-choice. I disagree often with conservative views but I don't disrespect conservatives (this is, after all, America) and I certainly don't question their patriotism or their geniune belief that their positions are best for the country. I served my country proudly in the first Gulf war and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal as well as a Good Conduct Medal. I am NOT anti-american and resent the implications made by Ms. Bachmann. It reeks of very intolerance this country has worked so hard to eradicate here and around the world.
You can only be pro-American if you live in a certain part of the country and are ultra-conservative? What other requirements do you have? Race, religion, income level? What's next? I think you tried to take the Ayers thing to a higher level because previous attacks weren't working, but you went entirely too far and ended up sounding ignorant and fanatical. Congratulations on that note.
One other point, please inform yourself in regards to the difference between voter registration fraud and voter fraud. Fraudulent registrations do not translate to actual fraudulent votes. As I am sure you are aware, to turn a fraudulent registration into a fraudulent vote is a far greater effort than a few employees scamming extra money are able to carry off. Please check yourself and stop misleading your audience. You are making claims and accusations that are reckless and dangerous and speak volumes about YOUR judgement. I hope your constituents think twice before you get re-elected (I am hopeful that they do NOT think the way you do)... |
|
|
I just saw your despicable performance on Hardball. If you want to know what an anti-American looks like, Ms. Bachmann, look in the mirror. I pray that you are your McCarthyite ilk are roundly defeated so that we can finally start to see some civility in this country. If you had a conscience, you would resign. |
|
|
I just saw your outrageous performance on Hardball. I've never heard of you, thank God, and I don't make a habit of contacting out-of-town congresspeople but it's disturbing that an entire Congressional district saw fit to elect the likes of you. How dare you! How dare you! Now "liberals" are anti-American? We're probably anti-Christian too. If believing that 45 million people not having health insurance is something that needs to be changed even if that means some people who probably brag about their Christianity have to pay more taxes makes me anti-American, well, I guess I am. And that's fine. If believing that the war in Iraq was a mistake makes me anti-American, well, I guess I am. But I don't think so. I love my country as much as you do (more, in fact, since you seem to hate so many of its people and are ready to stir up so many others to do so). Don't you EVER, EVER DARE to lecture ANYONE else again. And if you get a single vote next month, I'll know that something is wrong in the State of Minnesota. |

Vote for a Hero that cares about this country and AMERICANS! Don't Vote for Someone who Loves only Himself and His associations! Vote for a man who knows his country shouldn't be accused of Racism Don't vote for someone who bases his whole strategy on Making all White Americans appear Racist Vote for somebody who doesn't trash and kick his country to Foreign Countries Don't vote for someone Who Chastises our Allies and Praises Our Enemies. The continued statements by Obama about Spreading the Wealth and America being a Wealthy Nation, should be something to be Ashamed of! Obama should go to Kenya and help Odingo! After all that is where his father was From After all his mother married someone from Kenya Why not go help your people there Obama? I am sure you would be welcomed with open arms. We don't need your Socialist Views We are Not Ashamed of being FREE Americans. We Love this Country, you kick every chance you get! Mccain/Palin 08 Vote for a real American! |
|
I could not believe a citizen of the United States, let alone a member of Congress, could spew the hatred for and extreme distortions of at least half the citizens of this country.
Your words today on Hardball show that you do not have any idea of what it means to be an American. Disagreeing on policy of the Administration does not mean one is anti-American. That you don't get that is inexcusable.
You owe all of America an apology, you should be censored in the US Congress, and you should preferably resign.
You frighten me. Your words serve to stir up further hatred leading to violence against fellow citizens.

Somehow justice, or an attempt thereof, will never be served unless Barney Frank offers himself up for questioning by his committee. Then add Christopher Dodd to the list. |

BARACK CONDEMNING HIS OWN PARTY! SAYING HIS OWN PARTY HAS THE ABILITY TO SCREW THINGS UP FOR HIM. ALL ABOUT OBAMA NOT THE COUNTRY! CONGRATS TO ALL THE DEMOCRATS WHO HAVE THE INTELLIGENCE TO VOTE AGAINST THIS MAN!
He wants to make our country a welfare country, reforming the welfare system lowered the unemployment rate! Now DorkBamma wants to turn this country upside down by giving money to deadbeats who refuse to make a living! Who refuse to work, when selling drugs is easier! Refuse to take responsibility for their own lives and families! Well so much for unemployment rates being down, so much for making people work for a living! Why would any of Obama's Folk work when they can get a free handout?
You people voting for him are totally and outrageously NUTS!
Get your heads out of Obama's Bumm, and see that blue sky above your heads and think with your own BRAINS!
God Help This Country! Its a fact the Lib/dims aren't going to! God Bless AMerica! God Bless Our Soldiers! I can say that and not have to be forced into saying it like Obama and Michelle have to! |
|
Rep. Bachmann,
How can you have the gaul to call those with whom you disagree "anti-American?" We have had enough of the old "divide and rule" tactics that have marred this countries politics for several years. We are all for America even when we disagree on what we need to bring about justice for all.
You owe all of America an apology.
|
|
* Facts are Facts: Barack Obama and ACORN screwed us. Using and abusing the authority of the Community Reinvestment Act, OBAMA, ACORN and the DEMOCRATS tore the financial lynch pin of our economy right out from under us; our homes. And those involved need to be called out, just like ENRON or any other systemic corruption. The 2006 "Change" Democrat congress sure lived up to their billing; since 2006 we have changed America from the dynamic economy of the worlds greatest superpower to a Bankrupt 2nd rate country. And all while the witless and corrupt Democrats presided over the worst financial collapse since the Great Depression, telling us everything was "fine" and "Fannie is not in trouble".
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank and BARACK OBAMA; The worst Congress EVER, and the most corrupt. Because they flat out SCREWED US ! |
|
I just finished reading Gore Vidal's novel Burr and it made me think, I am so tired of hearing negative cracks at opposing candidates. I am smart enough to make my own decision w/o all the politicians telling me why I SHOULD not vote for the other. What happened to tell us what YOU are going to do and HOW! We truly sound desperate.
In August, President George W. Bush came to town to keynote Michelle Bachman's congressional fundraiser, which raised about $500,000. Bachmann has also received fundraising support from Vice President Dick Cheney. None of these visits were made within her district, and most of her fund-raising came from outside of her district. Who picked up the tab on their expenses? Was it paid by Bachman's party or was it payed for by the taxpayers? I have found that alot of these political figures throw these fees to the taxpayers to gain in their own political benefit.
REPUBLICANS HAVE BECOME WAY TO NEGATIVE AND I FEEL ARE TRYING TO SPLIT THIS COUNTRY IN A TIME WHEN WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER, AND WHY IF WE ARE SO CONFIDENT WITH OUR WORDS HAVE WE WAITED UNTIL NOW TO BRING THEM PUBLIC? I think any politicians talking about something now that happened in the past but was not brought forward until now are just as guilty of hiding public information from the American people. Why protect us now but not before since we have held the office for the last eight years?
We have failed our people and now sound desperate to do anything to keep it. It's too late and I will support the democrats since they will need it. I am an American not a REPUBLICAN who have seemed to turn on just about everyone including the person we put there 8 years ago. So dissapointed.
|
|
|
Is it also true that the Bachmann family farm has received more than $135,000 in federal subsidies since 2001? And if so why? |
|
to Michele Bachmann. Stay on it! Don't let up! Find the perpetrators (read: leftists like B. Frank. M. Waters, etc.)
It wouldn't surprise me if this financial debacle was orchestrated (probably George Soros was involved).
McCain/Palin '08 |
|
Do you guys really claim this person as one of yours? I'm glad someone is acting on ACORN, but the commentator was not engaging in hyperbole when she used the term American Facism. There's no other way to describe the broad brush characterization of those with whom you disagree as 'Ant-American' then calling for an act of Congress to investigate and presumably punish said offenders.
Bachmann is totally wack! |
|
god save us from people like you LLR... And I only have one word for Michelle *Shameless* |
|
Minnesota has lost a great deal of respectability with Michele's appearance on MSNBC.
She appears racist, un-American, unaccepting of American diversity, and unrepresentative of true American values.
How SHAMEFUL and DISHONORABLE you are!!
I will now be doing everything in my power to ensure you are REMOVED from any position representing me.
You are a DISGRACE to our state and party. |
|
|
Do you realize that the ONLY way to "bring this country together" is through the use of force? Republicans are negative name-callers? At least they are calling attention to their opponents political beleifs, not "c*nt" as Obama's supporters have called Sara Palin. I have seen nothing but hatred from Democrats, from grass-roots ACORN members to Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi. If you are accepting drivel written by Gore Vidal as valid social commentary, you are truly on the road to perdition. |
|
|
|
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw Rep. Bachmann's appearance on Hardball. Has she never heard of Joe McCarthy? Perhaps she has, and she considers him an American hero.
Her statements regarding finding and ferreting out the anti-American among us are the most anti-American statements I have heard in a long, long time. Michele Bachmann has brought shame to her district. |
|
Nice job on MSNBC yesterday. Are you going to revive the House Committee on Un-American Activities?
My, my what progress we have made in this country, because of people like you, Ms. Bachmann, who continue to perpetuate the "your either with us or against us" mentality. If you have different views than me, you're anti-American.
Please, spew your hate somewhere else. |
|
Spread the wealth say Obama, right away dude, Lets use Obamas, Pelsoi,Reid Dodd,Franks,Franklin Rains, Jim Johnsons, Rev Wright,Ayers,Evans,Pfleger,Rezko,Farrakhans money and spread the wealth around, use your own money not ours. |
|
|
Bringing back the 50s era of ignorant McCarthyism is not going to win you a presidential election. In fact I'm glad to see it's going to cost you your own local election. Your ignorant hate filled diatribe made me aware of you for the first time and I just contributed money to your opponent's campaign thanks to it. You, Palin and the rest are the true anti-americans, trying to bring out hate, ignorance and the lowest common denominators to support your crippled, failed agendas. I hope you rot on the pile of insignificance you surely deserve to. Good riddance... |
|
...how you have NO MENTION ANYWHERE on this site or your House site about your REPELLENT remarks on MSNBC. You have called attention to yourself as the biggest f***ing a**hole in Congress, but , oh, no apology or anything!
Bachmann, you are a disgrace to the District, to Minnesota, and the USA.
GO TO HELL. |
|
|
The Congresswoman is a disgrace. What an absolute embarrassment. Katrina was absolutely right. This woman has no sense of American history or American values. What does she mean by "pro-America" anyway? As far as I can tell, her agenda is to divide the country, spew hatred and bile, and repeat scurrilous accusations against the Democratic candidate for president. I've seen her before and she never has a single intelligent thing to say, which is not surprising because she's clearly dumb as a rock. My God, can't Minnesota do better than this? Seriously folks. She's an embarrassment. And this trumped up garbage about ACORN is part of a plan the Republicans have to cast suspicion on what they understandably fear will be an Obama victory and an end to their hateful rein in Washington--a tenure, by the way, which has left our economy in shambles, strained our military to the brink, and shredded our relationships with our friends and allies around the world. And now they have nothing to run on so they resort to this hateful, disgusting, slanderous crap. What a joke. |
|
Hey, Congresswoman Bachmann,
I read about your shameful comments on Hardball. How dare you question the "Americanism" of the Obamas and of fellow members of Congress just because they don't share your extreme political views? I strongly suggest that you issue an immediate, abject policy for your VERY un-American comments, and accompany it with your resignation. Don't let the door of the Capitol Building hit your fascist fanny on the way out! |
|
I wanted to check when you were elected. I was wondering if there was IRREGULARITY from the Republicans (voter suppression) because you are the most disgraceful person today that can honestly be called a "FAUX AMERICAN" and I hope Minnesota moves quickly to get you removed from representation! DISGUST DOES NOT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE "YOUR DANGEROUS ATTITUDE" |
|
|
|
Shame on you Michelle Bachman. You are anti-american in the worst way.
How can you be so ugly and evil? |
|
Rather than just express outrage, let's support the good man who is running against her, El Tinklenberg. http://www.tinklenberg08.com/ About her opponent: Elwyn Tinklenberg, 57, was born in Princeton and grew up on a farm in Pease, Minnesota, a small, Dutch, farming community in central Minnesota, where he learned the values of faith, pragmatism and hard work. He received his undergraduate degree at the Univ. of Minn. at Duluth and attended seminary at Northwestern University. He served as a United Methodist Minister in Blaine, Minnesota from 1977 to 1986. While serving on the city council for 4 years and as Mayor of Blaine from 1987 to 1996, Tinklenberg gained a reputation as an expert in the field of transportation, then served as Gov. Jesse Ventura's Commissioner of Transportation from 1999 to 2002. Charged with managing the day-to-day operations of the department's 5,500 employees and $2 billion annual budget, he worked directly with the legislature to secure funding for the state's first light rail and the development of a regional commuter plan. He also served on the Board of Directors for the American Public Transportation Association. From El: “Rather than offer more corporate tax breaks or deficit-funded rebate checks, we can turn to American ingenuity to build lasting solutions to our economic challenges. In Congress I will prioritize the kinds of innovative, job-based economic opportunities that the current administration has failed to develop.” Do the “real America” a favor by dumping Bachmann and helping to elect this intelligent, decent man. |
|
I don't usually waste my time to even respond to things like this, but after seeing your appearance on Hardball, I have just one thing to say: you are absolutely, unequivocally bat-$hit crazy. The NERVE of you, and people of your ilk to declare anyone who doesn't think (think???) like you as un-American is despicable.
I no longer live in the great state of Minnesota, and find it hard to believe that they would actually elect an intellectual Smurf like you. Your total ignorance has moved me to make a campaign donation to Elwyn Tinklenberg, and I will be sure to urge all of friends and relatives who still do live in Minnesota, many in your district, to do the same.
Enjoy the soapbox while you've got it. Keep on spreading the lies. Come November 4, the voters in the 6th district will be sending you a message. It's never too early to start packing. |

I suppose Colin Powell is anti-American too Michele?
Check it out--about 40 seconds into this clip, Colin Powell reveals that Bachmann's ugly McCarthyesque remarks helped make up his mind to endorse Obama. Thanks Michele!

Ms. Bachmann, having observed you over the past couple of months making the rounds on the big talk shows it seems clear what your interests truly are. Yourself! The painted on smile, the extreme language and viewpoints all seem focused on one goal ... you getting your time in the spotlight. A true American would realize that in a democracy, you were elected to Congress as a representative of our interests and realize that you're there for us, not for your own moments of fame. Your extreme views, comments, and approach are divisive and contrary to meaningful progress in our legislative process. I am embarrased that you represent the state I live in. I sincerely hope your constituents send a strong message on Nov. 4th to you ... THAT YOUR DAYS IN CONGRESS ARE OVER! |

I am from Utah and could not let my fury stew all these miles away from you without you knowing how I feel. I could NOT believe what I heard on Hardball. I don't care if you right wing nuts think that MSNBC is a left wing media lover or not - you portrayed a litney of anti-American statements that should get you run right OUT of office. I was so incensed over what you said that I am finding a way to donate to your opponent and found his name and email address right here on you blog. You were claiming that your opponent was anti American by his palling around with Ayars. That's a cover. You Republicans don't have anything to throw at the economy or health care or foreclosures so you drill down on his choice of people to be seen with. You see, anytime a person sounds as crazed as you did during that interview, it is apparent that something isn't going their way. Obama is going to win this election and you can't stand the thought of all the financial loophole doors slamming in your face. Or of the chance that Congress will become totally veto proof. Sorry, Republicans have caused this current mess and by you assuming You (Repub's) are this country's answer to the solution is more than an oximoron. I am ashamed of you and hope you answer to your constituents with more dignity and integrity than you displayed today, when they, hopefully, unelect you. At least thank them for the opportunity to serve them for without that - your face would NEVER have been on TV. |
|

Your anti-American accusations just started your vacancy. Good riddance. |

I can see by all the rational and intelligent remarks on this article the true genius of The One coming out through his surrogates thoughts.Yes I am beginning to feel the love of Obama and I am getting that tingling feeling up my leg.I am elated to see the wonder of The One bringing us together. |

JUST SAY NO TO SLIM SHADY! |

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann continued to defend her statements about Barack Obama's "associations" this morning in a Twin Cities television interview. Bachmann. Michele Bachmann may have stepped in a trap of her own design... Bachmann also had to answer a question about her association with ex-con Frank Vennes Jr. who is involved in the Tom Petters fraud investigation.

Job well done Rep. Bachmann. So refreshing that you were allowed to get a word in edgewise with that thrill up my leg political hack and made compelling arguments for Americans to THINK about their decision. A casual search on Google shows how many people have coalesced to get you booted from office. How American! Free speech is once again being poo-pooed by the Democratic elite and morons in general. Michelle the Congresswoman is getting the Joe the Plumber treatment for asking a question!
And thank you Tweety Matthews for giving her the forum to pose thought-provoking questions. You managed to twist her words and equate liberal to anti-American. You get paid to be an idiot?
And did you see Stephanie Cutter, the Obama Senior Advisor, at the end getting physically shaky and agitated. She obviously has a hard time lying.
Kudos to Michelle Bachmann! Job well done.
PUMA! McCain*Palin 2008! Country first.

And no where in that interview did Michelle Bachmann say that Obama is anti-American. Look it up. |
|
On last night's episode of MSNBC's Hardball, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota charged Barack Obama and other members of Congress with sharing "anti-American" views. Defending the McCain campaign's automated phone calls attacking Obama's judgment and character, Bachmann called for a news media "exposé" of the views of members of Congress.
Bachmann thinks that anyone who disagrees with her personal political agenda is unpatriotic. But she is the one who has a lot to learn about what it means to love America and what it takes to make this country great, as Katrina vanden Heuvel eloquently explained to Chris Matthews in response to Bachmann's ignorant ravings.

Fellow Republican Norm Coleman Tries to Distance Himself from Michele Bachmann
The Republican fallout from Michele Bachmann's calls for McCarthyism like investigations is being felt by fellow Republican Norm Coleman in Minnesota and across the nation.

An unrepentant Michele Bachmann reiterated her divisive comments on a Sunday morning Minnesota TV news show and again called for a media expose on whether liberal leaning Barack Obama and liberal leaning congressmen and congresswomen had dangerous anti-American viewpoints.
On the same Sunday morning TV show Republican Norm Coleman, who had previously appeared with Michele Bachmann at campaign events in Blaine Minnesota, tried to quickly distance himself from Bachmann and her toxic comments made during her Chris Matthews interview on Friday. Coleman rejected Bachmann's view on Obama's anti-Americanism and said, "I would not label his views as anti-American."

I thought Ann Coulter was the worst. But you easily outmatch her.You are very defensive & myopic.
Perhaps you reverse project your xenophobic fear & paranoia, out of a deep need to win & keep your job & the power that goes with it.
You are obviously a closet racist & bigot.Perhaps you are delusional & out of touch.
But who am I to judge you.You call yourself a Christian ? Perhaps Mr. Obama is the anti-christ.
Instant Karma is what you will now begin to experience. What goes around comes around.
You are one of the most wicked people I have ever witnessed on the media.
I pray that you have good health, joy & prosperity. Thank God I'm not married to you.
Godspeed Ms. Bachman |

He was neck in neck with Coleman, but your obvious comments have offended Americans. Coleman is distancing himself and this will only help Franken.
Thank you, Mrs. Bachmann. God Bless! |

Congresswoman Bachmann - I CANNOT wait for your seat to get taken by the incumbant - Elwyn Tinklenberg - come election day. This will be about as satisfying as Obama beating McCain. You want to start a McCarthy like witch-hunt to determine who is anti-American and who isn't ? ! ? Are you out of your mind ? ! ? Has history taught you anything about what happens to those staging these false witch-hunts ? ! ? There are members of congress that don't share the same conservative views that you do - so you want to stage an "expose" to determine who . . .Are you kidding me ? How does one gage this sort of thing. No-One in Congress or the Senate is Anti-American ! ! They may be Anti-Bush, like the other 72% of the country. I'm from Milwaukee, WI and I CANNOT wait for your seat to get taken ! I think, much like McCarthy 50 plus years ago, you just committed career suicide. Congratulations. |

Congresswoman Bachmann:
I live in Connecticut, and so have no immediate interest in Minnesota's local politics.
However, your recent remarks on Chris Matthews' Hardball show have inspired me to make a donation to your opponent, Mr. Tinklenberg's, election campaign.
Mind you, it's not to punish you, but instead, to protect my beloved country from you and politicians like you from abusing your power by discouraging hearty, heartfelt disagreement on the issues, by instilling fear, by creating false doubts about your opponents' patriotism.
It is your behavior and your words, Ms. Bachmann, that is in my opinion truly and fundamentally and frighteningly anti-American.
Sincerely, Douglas P. Belfiore Trumbull, CT 06611 |

The vile un-American comments are only the tip of the iceberg.
You republicans are finally showing your racist anti-American true selves, and Real Americans are recoiling in horror.
That you have managed to drive our fine country into the ground, and while you give your no-bid Halliburton contracts, so they can electrocute 18 brave soldiers, is despicable.
Waziristan awaits you and your kind.
We are having a big dinner/dance to raise money for your opponent.

Michele was right about Obama's views. Obama wants to spread the wealth around? Use your own money then, Obama and Biden! Quit hiding behind the "middle class"! Americans want to be left alone. Quit punishing those who succeed! We don't need government's help because it creates an entitlement society. Most of those who have money, worked hard for it. So they have every right to keep it. That's the America I grew up believing in! The media is vicious to anyone who disagrees with Obama's views. Why do you think "Joe the Plumber" is facing scrutiny/ persecution ever since he asked Obama a question about taxes at one of his campaign stops? Persecuting those who tell the truth is nothing new. Look at Jesus Christ who called the Pharisee's white washed tombs (hypocrits) and was crucified for it! Lips

1) You can harp on Acorn (or other organizations that try to register voters) all you want, but you still haven't figured out that voter registration fraud is NOT the same as VOTER FRAUD.
Acorn, from many reports, does a BAD JOB of registering voters. I have no argument with that. And many of their employees are awful...and are fraudulant TOWARDS ACORN. As long as we, as a country, does not register voters through our state or federal agencies, you're going to get more of the same. But this does NOT mean that we will have VOTER FRAUD.
2) You need to understand how INDEPENDENT such as myself view you and other "far right conservatives." You are NOT viewed favorably. And now that you have "tied" yourself to a candidate such as McCain who has shown poor judgement on several fronts (VP choice is horribly inadequate, poor decisions regarding the "suspension" of his campaing, poor choice in going so horribly negative with his campaign, etc).
Both Democrats AND Republicans have to compete with the "middle of the road" for votes. And you are losing that battle by a mile. You need to keep a SEPARATION BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE in mind. You need to get off your conservative high horse and look at the issues that voters care about.
For you...it is too late. But maybe some of your cohorts will get the hint after this election. The Karl Rove days are over. Things like accountability and honesty in campaigning....which many politicians know nothing about, is coming into vogue.....brought about by the internet. Get used to it.

How do we go about getting a petition up declaring William Ayers is a threat to the United States of America, just by being alive in this country. All 3000 of the so called educators that have got a petition up for Ayers backing him up as a good citizen. I would like to start one up to tell the Nation what kind of educater he is by letting them know once a terrorist always a terrorist. |

Thank you for submitting the House Financial Services Committee Hearing statement on “Regulatory Restructuring and Reform of the Financial System." The staggering sums of money that have been injected into the banking system will not solve the current financial problem and the burden of the bailout will be borne, both in the short term and long term, largely by middle-class taxpayers. Representative Hensarling was quoted as saying that the government was on the slippery slope to socialism. And as you stated in the Star Tribune, “We are well on our way to privatizing profit but socializing risk.” As you maintain, in the long term, “Every American who has played it safe and smart to avoid debt is being asked to spend the rest of his or her life paying off the debts of Washington and Wall Street.” Ron Paul reaches the same conclusion and states, “The invest payments on that debt…will rise, and our children and grandchildren will be burdened with increased taxes to pay off that increased debt.” The most important point you make, however, is, “We’re well on our way to eliminating moral hazard from economics altogether. This is antithetical not only to the free market basis of our economy, but to the rich heritage of liberty we’ve long enjoyed.” The United States has definitely moved farther away from a free-market economy in the past six months. The worst-performing firms have in fact been rewarded at the expense of the middle-class taxpayer. And as Representative Hensarling lamented, how do we measure success in this country when failure is no longer allowed? Thank you again for voting no on HR1424.
